CHARPENTIER GUSTAVE: (1860-1956) French composer, remembered for his opera Louise. A.N.S., with his initials G. Ch., to one side of the personal printed oblong 12mo Visiting Card of Charpentier, featuring his printed name, as a Membre de l'Institut, to the centre and address at Boulevard de Rochechouart, Paris, at the base, n.d., in French. Charpentier writes, in full, 'Bien de remerciements pour votre fidélité à me tenir en courant. J'attend une photo pour vous l'envoyer. J'en etais demuni. Excusez moi aupres du Maestro' (Translation: 'Many thanks for your faithfulness in keeping me informed. I'm waiting for a photo to send it to you. I was deprived of it. Excuse me to the Maestro' .
