A.L.S., Puccini , to one side of a plain postcard, Torre del Lago, 4 th July 1906, to [Cosimo] Pavone ( 'Mister Pevon' ), in Italian. Puccini writes, in part, 'All right per le camicie che ho ricevuto. Puoi dunque pagarle. Grazie anche per le cifre teatrali....ricordati la visita all'Abetone' (Translation: 'All right for the shirts I received. So you can pay them. Thanks also for the theatrical figures….remember the visit to Abetone' . Hand addressed by Puccini to Pavone at Ricordi in London to the verso. VG Cosimo Pavone, a friend of Puccini (hence the composer's humorous salutation), worked as an agent for the music publishing company Ricordi. Pavone rendered the composer a multitude of services, as illustrated in the present letter where made to measure shirts were sourced for Puccini who, very satisfied, authorised the payment.
