A moving letter to the daughter of his friend who had passed away recently, and responding to his correspondent´s letter, states in part `… Vous êtes une des rares femmes qui peuvent servir d´exemples à toutes les autres; vous êtes la fille d´un homme excellent que j´ai aimé pendant quarante ans et que j´aime encore en vous. Considérez-vous comme de ma famille et n´importe ce que je pourrais faire pour vous être agréable, sachez que je le ferais´ (Translation: ` You are one of the rare women who can serve as an example to all the others; you are the daughter of an excellent man whom I loved for forty years and whom I still love in you. Consider yourself as a member of my family and anything I could do to please you, be sure that I will do so´) Further, Dumas refers to chiromancy and to graphology which passioned him, saying ` … Madame Fasérieux a le projet de faire de la chiromancie.
