Autograph address panel signed (' Jeremy Bentham '), addressed in his hand to Henry Brougham Esq. at Lincoln's Inn. Very slightly irregular edges and with a couple of very small holes to the left edge. A light area of discolouration to the left only very slightly affects Bentham's forename. About VG Henry Brougham (1778-1868) British statesman who served as Lord High Chancellor 1830-34 and was an advocate of liberal causes including abolition of the slave trade. Brougham had entered Lincoln's Inn in 1803.
