ANDERSEN HANS CHRISTIAN: (1805-1875) - ANDERSEN HANS CHRISTIAN: (1805-1875) Danish author who is best remembered for his literary fairy tales. Vintage signed sepia carte-de-visite photograph, the albumen print depicting Andersen seated in a three-quarter length profile pose and holding some flowers in his hands. Signed by Andersen in dark fountain pen ink with his name alone to a light area at the head of the image, and further signed to the verso beneath several brief lines of untranslated Danish text in his hand, presumably a quotation. The image is a little worn and some of Andersen's facial features are indistinct. Some light overall age wear and the corners of the photographer's mount a little rubbed and worn, G
