BERNHARDT SARAH: (1844-1923) French stage actress. A.N.S., Sarah Bernhardt, to the verso of her personal printed monogrammed correspondence card, n.p. (Paris?), n.d. (May 1919), in French. Bernhardt makes a request of the recipient, evidently a theatre manager, ´Deux places pour les soirs - La seconde - Napoleonette - Le vendredi 30 Mai 1919´ (Translation: ´Two places for the evenings - The second - Napoleonette - Friday 30 May 1919´). Napoleonette was a novel by Gyp and Andre de Lorde published in 1913 and later adapted for the stage as a play in five acts and a prologue. It was performed at the Théâtre Sarah-Bernhardt in Paris in May 1919.
