TATI JACQUES: (1907-1982) - TATI JACQUES: (1907-1982) French mime artist, actor and film director. An excellent signed and inscribed 9.5 x 7 photograph of Tati in a full-length pose, in costume as Monsieur Hulot, bending over as he changes the wheel on a truck at the side of a busy road, from the Italian-French comedy film Trafic (1971) which was also directed by Tati. Signed in bold black ink to a light area of the image, Tati also adding a small caricature in his hand above his signature. A surprisingly rare signed photograph. VG Provenance: The present photograph was signed for Carlo Giovetti (1916-1999) Italian journalist in the film and entertainment sector who worked for various newspapers including Il Giorno. Trafic was the last film to feature Tati´s famous character of Monsieur Hulot, and followed in the same vein as earlier Tati films which lampooned modern society.
