DEMPSEY JACK: (1895-1983) American boxer, World Heavyweight Champion 1919-26. Vintage signed and inscribed 8.5 x 6.5 photograph, the image depicting Dempsey standing in a three-quarter length pose at the centre of two younger men, one wearing a uniform, evidently fans of the boxer and patrons of his establishment. Signed by Dempsey in fountain pen ink to the upper card mount, ´For Howard, thanks & good luck pal, from Jack Dempsey´. Contained within the original printed oblong 8vo folding presentation folder from Jack Dempsey´s Broadway Bar and Cocktail Lounge in New York.
