PAGNOL MARCEL: (1895-1974) French film director, novelist and playwright. Signed 3.5 x 5.5 postcard photograph of Pagnol seated in a half-length pose at a desk, holding a pen in one hand and wearing the habit vert of the Académie Française, adorned with various decorations. Signed by Pagnol in bold black fountain pen ink with his name alone to the lower white border. VG

In 1946 Pagnol was the first filmmaker to be elected to the Académie Française.
