JOHN XXIII: (1881-1963) Pope of the Catholic Church 1958-63. T.L.S., + Angelo G. Roncalli, to the recto of a printed correspondence card, Bergamo, 4th October 1927, to Rocco Beltrame (´Mio carissimo Monsignore´), in Italian. The future Pope states that he will be passing through Rome again and ´Pensando alle buone accoglienze dello scorso anno oso chiederle di nuovo l´ospitalità al Seminario. Me la può accordare?´ (Translation: ´Thinking of the warm welcome I received last year, I dare to ask you once again for hospitality at the Seminary. Can you grant it to me?´), further explaining that he expects to arrive on Wednesday, 12th October and would prefer for the visit to be a brief one, perhaps only lasting two or three days. In concluding Roncalli asks ´Se mi può rispondere a volta di corriere al mio indirizzo qui in campagna è meglio. Oppure favorisca rispondermi a Milano presso le Suore di Carità´ (Translation: ´If you could reply by courier to my address here in the country, that would be best.
