Like all Jews around the world, the Jews of America celebrate Passover and Leil Ha'Seder as part of their Jewish tradition. Over the years, they were forced to give up their favorite drink – coffee – until in 1923, the Maxwell House introduced its Kosher-for-Passover coffee.
This was a smart move which drew the attention of the American Jewish community, which had an increasingly growing consumer purchasing power in the American market. It was not long before other coffee companies followed suit and presented their own kosher-for-Passover coffee.
In a brilliant move, the advertising agency of the Maxwell House then placed its coffee brand on every Seder table in the USA and turned it into the most sold brand among American Jews.
In the early 1930's, using a smart and innovative marketing gimmick, the Maxwell House issued a small booklet that was handed out for free to anyone who bought its kosher-for-Passover coffee – a Passover Haggadah.
90 years later, Maxwell House still continues to print its branded Haggadah, which became the most common Haggadah in the world! So far, Maxwell House has printed more than 50 million Haggadot and one of them was even presented on the table of the White House.

The Haggadah before us is from 1940. Rare. It does not appear in the National Library! On the inner page of the back binding there is an illustrated advertisement for the Maxwell kosher-for-Passover coffee.
Condition: Fair-Good. The binding has fallen off the spine and there are omissions in its corners.
