Lengthy autograph letter by R. Yehuda Leib Fein to the Va’ad HaYeshivos in Vilna, detailing happenings and struggles of the Jewish community in Slonim. With mention of the Chofetz Chaim and R. Chaim Ozer Grodzensky.
R. Yehuda Leib Fein (1869-1941), learnt in the great Yeshivos Slabodka, Eisheshok and Ponevezh as well as a being a Talmid of R. Meir Simcha of Dvinsk. He served as Rav in Peisutzna, Kupishok, Ushmina and finally in Slonim. He was also active in the Agudas Yisroel of Poland. He was murdered in 1941. His son was R. Reuven Fine, later of Yeshiva Torah Vodaath.
