Al Satterwhite, Paul Newman, Rolex, Hodinkee
A print from a 1978 photograph of Newman in racing gear and wearing a Rolex Chronograph taken by Al Satterwhite. Hodinkee commissioned 50 examples in two sizes, each a limited edition of 25. It is signed by Satterwhite and numbered 20/25. This print was only available through Hodinkee. From Hodinkee , "Motorsports is a small part of Satterwhite's portfolio, but in 1978, while at Sebring, he captured what would become one of the most beautiful and iconic photographs of Paul Newman to date – a striking black and white of Newman in his Goodyear racing suit, hand to his ear, with a steel chronograph visible on his opposing wrist. The image remained part of Satterwhite's personal portfolio for years, until one print was discovered by our own Ben Clymer. In discussions with Satterwhite's representing gallery, we were able to secure 50 prints of this incredible image, on museum-quality paper, each individually signed and numbered by Satterwhite himself".

Dimensions:The image is 17 1/2" x 12", the frame 24" x 18".
Condition: Excellent condition. The frame shows minor wear.
