Set of Anglo-Chinese 'Brighton Pavilion' Style Bamboo Furniture
A Pair of Anglo-Chinese 'Brighton Pavilion' Style Bamboo and Caned Armchairs, Circa 1900. Together with a similar octagonal occasional table.
Dimensions: Height of Chairs 34in; width 19 3/4in; depth of seat 17in; seat height 18in; Height of table 21in; width 13in; depth 13in.
Provenance: Property from a Philadelphia Main Line Collection.
Footnote: After George IV had been gifted series of Chinese wallpaper panels, he ordered Robert Jones and Frederick Crace to design a Chinese Gallery in his seaside retreat Brighton Pavilion to display them. The gallery was decorated with Japanese and Chinese artifacts in addition to English and European works in the Chinoiserie style. This set forth the trend for fashionable eastern inspired decoration and furnishings in the 19th century.

Structurally sound. Scattered small losses throughout. The seats are in good condition.
