An Assembled Group of English Tea Caddies and Boxes, Early-Mid 19th Century. Comprising a large William IV mother-of-pearl inlaid tea caddy; a Regency string inlaid rosewood sarcophagus form tea caddy; a Regency mahogany sarcophagus tea caddy and an English mahogany rectangular instrument case. Together with a Japanese lacquer tea caddy. (5)
Dimensions: Height of largest 7in; width 15 1/2in; depth 9in.
Condition:
The mother-of-pearl inlaid tea caddy with scattered small losses to inlay and veneer overall and heavy wear to the finish. The largest lidded compartment lid is probably later. Lacking lock and key; The Japanese lacquer tea caddy lacking screws to one hinge, scattered marks and wear overall; The mahogany tea caddy with losses and movement to veneers; The rosewood tea caddy with losses to string inlay overall, lacking a pressed brass lion mask handle and lacking one interior lid. No keys.
