Copy belonging to Rabbi Eliyahu Frenkel, Rabbi of Levelek, signed on the title page,
‘hakatan Eliya
Frenkel’ and on another page,
‘hakatan Eliya Frenkel MiLiska’. On the fly leaf there is additional inscription by one of his sons,
‘Shayach lichvod adoni avi mori verabi harav hamefursam chevod kedushas shem tifarto Rabbi Eliya Frenkel, Rabbi of Levelek’.
Rabbi Eliyahu Frenkel (d. 1888), son of Rabbi Meir Yehuda, Rabbi of Levelek (Hungary) and descendant of Rabbi Leibish Ashvarer of Mad. Disciple of Rabbi Tzvi Hirsh of Liska, Rabbi Asher Anshel of Tchenger and Rabbi Shmelka of Selish. A close follower of the Rebbe of Liska, and after his master’s passing he beame Rabbi in Levelek where many chassidim became attached to him. Author of Ateres Eliyahu and Avnei Eliyahu.
