Sefer Yesod: Toldot Adam—first edition of the tshuvot of the Rashba. Livorno 1757.
Sefer Toldot Adam, first edition of the Rashba’s Shut in the order commonly practiced today. Stefanski Yesod 266.
One of the earliest books printed in Livorno. The last leaf of the book features three crowns as a symbol of the Bragadin publisher in Venice (on this interesting phenomenon, see Yaari “Hebrew Publisher Symbols, p. 131).
The title page has the signature of Rabbi Mordechai Friedman of Mezrich, author of the work Me’orer Yeshanim and owner of one of the largest Judaica libraries of the period.
Additional signatures of ownership: “David Yudele Kauffman”, Mizrahi signature of “Shlomo ben Mohar Avraham”.
104 leaves. Moth holes, moth damage on a group of pages with little text vulnerability, no binding, overall fair to good condition.
