Painter. 1854-1857 – a free-lance student of the Imperial Academy of Arts. He studied with F. A. Bruni, S. M. Vorobyov, T. A. Neff.

1857 – a trip to Switzerland, where he was a student of Kalam.

1859 – awarded the title of class artist and the right to retire abroad.

1864 – return to his homeland.

1867 – accompanying Grand Duke Alexei Alexandrovich on a trip around the world.

1876 – Professor.

1886 – awarded the Order of St. Anna, 3rd degree "for special works in the artistic field."

In the middle of 1902, among the advertisements, a modest obituary appeared in the newspaper Novoye Vremya: "Arseny Ivanovich Meshchersky, professor of landscape painting, who once enjoyed great popularity in the art world of St. Petersburg, died of asthma on November 13... He was most successful in mountain landscapes and winter motifs."
