Military writer, major general V. B. Bronevsky (1784–1835) dedicated his work to the Second archipelagic expedition of 1805–1835 under the command of the admiral D. N. Senyavin, which goal was to strengthen the bases of the Russian fleet on Ионических островах during the wars of the Third and Fourth Anti-French Coalition and the Russo-Turkish War of 1806–1812. This work is considered to this day the most reliable source for the study of the history of the Senyavin expedition.
