Cherity stationery became popular in Russia as it was a common practice to visit friends and relatives during Easter and Christmas. There were so many visits to be made during those periods that charity organizations decided to help people out ahd issued special visiting-card envelopes. Public organizations got financial gain while people instead of making personal visits could now send visiting-cards with their greelings. The Odessa Red Cross was the first to issue visiting-card envelopes. The tariff was 1 kop. The Red Cross charity stationery produced in aid of the Community of St. Eugene in St. Petersburg were issued until 1916. This exhibit demonstrates different kinds of charity stationery.
