Chinese Imperial Qianlong Cloisonne Incense Holder
Chinese imperial Qianlong cloisonne incense joss stick holder. Teal blue ground with an interlacing design of blooming pink lotus flowers amid profuse green, blue, and red scrollwork. With a central bronze container in the form of a fruit, possibly a pomegranate or a lotus. With an unusual scalloped gilt metal edge accentuating the central fruit-shaped container.
An extremely similar example can be found in the National Palace Museum (Gugong) collection (ref. no. Gu 118616).
Height: 1 1/2 in x diameter: 4 1/2 in.
Condition: No major dents, losses, or repairs. Tarnishing to the metal components; a few areas of high polish. There is pitting to the enamel throughout.
