14k Gold Waltham Colonial Series Pocket Watch
Ladies Waltham Colonial Series solid 14k gold case pendant pocket watch, open face, A.W.W. Co. Waltham Mass, 15j, damascened nickel, movement no. 14361196, case: 14 Karat, Solidarity, 231359, inside of cuvette cover damascened circle and sun ray motif, back cover has monogram initials, dial has gilded interior and sunken sub dial, watch dial and cuvette shows tarnish spots (see notes below for explantion) , dial cover does not completely close, may show some wear consistent with usage and age, outside dimension 1.27", weight 29.1, 18k gold is often used in high-end jewelry due to its 75% gold content. This higher gold content makes it less likely to tarnish than 10k or 14k gold. However, the remaining 25% usually consists of metals like copper or silver. These can react with substances like sweat, chlorine, or sulfur, leading to discoloration. All items are in as found condition from estate.
