Artist Bio: Alexander Calder was a pioneering American sculptor known for his innovative public artworks. With a background in mechanical engineering, Calder brought a unique sense of movement and balance to his sculptures, which often consisted of abstract shapes suspended in space. He was also known for his painting and printmaking, sculpture, and other unusual projects such as painting aircraft and monumental public art instillations.
