A WATERCOLOR PAINTING BY GIULIO ROSATI, 19TH C.
A watercolor painting by Italian Orientalists artist Giulio Rosati (1858 - 1917) depicting a mounted Bedouin with a miquelet pistol and standing figure with a flintlock rifle. Signed lower left "Giulio Rosati". Although the artist in his works often relied on the imagination, he reproduces in detail the life of Eastern cities. This watercolor shows a wonderful balance of shades, the details of the medium are skillfully used, brownish paper, which slightly shines through a thin layer of watercolor.
Dimensions: 13 3/4 x 17 1/4 in., (35 x 44 cm.), frame: 22 x 25 1/2 in., (56 x 64.5 cm.)
Condition: Very good with a tiny tear by the miquelet rifle.
