The Gaon Rabbi Yissachar Shlomo Teichtal (1885-1945) was a rabbi and Rosh Yeshiva in Piešťany in western Slovakia. Gained renown for his book of responsa Mishne Sachir. Rabbi Teichtal was admired by all the rabbis and tzaddikim of his generation and corresponded with them on halachic matters. He was recognized as a genius while still a youth and received smicha from the top Hungarian rabbis. His mentor was the Arugat HaBosem. When the Nazis invaded Slovakia Rabbi Teichtal fled to Hungary. When he heard that deportations had stopped he returned to Slovakia, but was captured and sent to Auschwitz
