Lind bids farewell to her correspondent and sends a thousand thanks for his big letter and for all of the information about Oberammergau, remarking 'I had never expected to hear more than what you so kindly sent in the first letter. Now we have got good places and lodgings secured for the 20th inst. and I trust the weather will be merciful to us - then I shall enjoy my passion play!' and further referring to her correspondent's political letter ('I can only say Amen to most of your words') and expressing a desire to be on the other side of the Channel, 'my heart feels at home there, yet I shall not forget this side, and those many I here love!'.
