TWO RUSSIAN SILVER AND NIELLO CIGARETTE CASES
Two late 19th century Russian silver and niello cigarette cases finely crafted with engraved floral ornaments. One rectangular cigarette case with rounded corners on the lid has an image of a shield and an engraving "IN MEMORY", divided on either side of the shield. It has an oval stamp with a woman's head turned to the left and the number 84 for the silver standard and a stamp with the master's initials "A.D." (Cyrillic). The second cigarette case, of a more elongated rectangular shape, is gilded inside, has the master's initials stamp "BE.", the stamp of the assay master "MA / 1866" and the stamp for 84 silver standards. Total Weight: 3.3 oz., 92 g.
