Letter Handwritten and Signed by Rabbi Yosef Dov Ha'Levi Soloveitchik - the USA, 1949

A letter on official paper, in the handwriting and with the signature of Rabbi Soloveitchik. The letter is addressed to "My honorable friend the well-rounded man Rabbi Hellerstein". It seems that the letter deals with Rabbi Soloveitchik's promise to give the sum of ₪2,176.55 to the Union of Orthodox Rabbis of America. In this letter the Rabbi apologizes that he sent only ₪1,978.68 : "I did not send the rest due to lack of knowledge, I did not remember…I thought that I had payed my vow, I did not know, that I promised this sum, because then he would have received it all in the winter months. Within a week I will send him a check for the remaining amount".

In the margins of the letter Rabbi Soloveitchik adds: "Greetings to the Rabbis, the Chairmen of the Union of Orthodox Rabbis".
