Sokolov Ilya Alekseevich (1890 - 1968)
Artist, architect. People's Artist of the RSFSR (1964), corresponding member of the Academy of Arts of the USSR (1954). He worked in an icon-painting workshop, then studied in the studio of A.P. Bolshakova in Moscow (1909–1911) and in the graphic workshop of the Moscow Proletkult (1919–1921) by V.D. Falileeva. Exhibitor of the exhibition "World of Art", a member of the Academy of Arts (since 1924). His works on domestic and industrial themes, landscapes and interiors are distinguished by sonorous coloring and skillful transmission of a light-air environment. In 1951, the artist was awarded the USSR State Prize for a series of colored linocuts on the theme of socialist labor (1949). The author's works are stored in many regional museums as well as in the State Tretyakov Gallery and the State Russian Museum.
