Rare and Sacred! The Original Letter from the Rayya"tz at the Beginning of his Leadership; "Offspring, Health and Sustenance." Rostov, 1923.

Historic letter - important and constitutive letter of Chaba"d doctrine. It was sent by the Rayya"tz as a missive to all followers of Chaba"d on the third anniversary of the beginning of his leadership, on 2 Nissan, 1923, and the conclusion of three years since his father's, the Rebbe the Rasha"b's passing. Extremely lengthy letter, covering two pages and signed in the margin by the Admo"r Rabbi Yosef Yitzchak Schneersohn - the Rayya"tz [1880-1950, the sixth Admo"r of Chaba"d and father-in-law of the last Lubavitcher Rebbe]. At the conclusion of his important letter is the blessing for "offspring, health and sustenance" signed by the Rayya"tz himself. There are several differences from the printed version, and revelations.

In this important and constitutive letter, whose value would be difficult to overstate, the Rayya"tz summarizes the principles of Chaba"d Chassidism, and its considerable power seems to burst forth from the letter, with which the Rayya"tz wants to instill its words into the reader's heart. In his letter, the Rayya"tz quotes the words of his father the Rasha"b precisely, as said to him just before the latter's passing, with respect to the Chassidim. These are the words of the Rasha"b, as stated by his son the Rayya"tz: "Strive to regularly study the words of the living G-d in the towns, which I began." The Rayya"tz, in his letter, which constitutes an actual Chassidic article, cries out from the depths of his heart: "Where are you whole?" "Have mercy on yourselves!" and he concludes with Chaba"d doctrine, the central axis from which one must not deviate: "The heart of the matter ... given to us by the [many honorifics] Admo"r, is to establish classes to publicly study the words of the Living G-d." Rare letter, unequalled in its importance.

Just as the content of this letter is unique and first-rate, the Rayyatz's blessings at the conclusion of this letter correspond; they are huge and especially glorious blessings: "May our G-d and the G-d of our fathers be with you and bless you, your families and your progeny and all that is yours, in body and soul." The Rebbe repeats his blessing: "He who seeks out your well-being, your temporal and eternal happiness, and blesses you with a twofold and threefold blessing for offspring, health and sustenance ... (his signature)." The Rebbe recounts in his letter no less than twenty terms of blessing, double and triple, and with their conclusion, the ultimate blessing, for "offspring, health and sustenance." The blessings are not intended for a specific person; they are a blessing for the public, something of deed for the messenger of this letter, and in this, too, is the segulah value of this letter.

[2] large pages, 22x29 cm. Rabbi Chaim Lieberman's or Rabbi Yechezkel (Chatzke) Feigin's script, concluding with the Rebbe's signature.
