Giant Tapestry. Solomon's Trial. Poland, 19th Century
Giant and impressive colorful tapestry depicting Solomon's famous trial. Entirely handmade.
At center is King Solomon. At left is a king's soldier holding a baby in one arm and a sword in the other. The real mother of the baby is pleading at the soldier's feet.
127x90 cm. 139x101 cm including the frame (the frame is later and is about 70 years old).
Fine condition. In several places, the threads unraveled and disappeared over the years. Blemished frame.
