BENEDICT XV: (1854-1922) Pope of the Roman Catholic Church 1914-22. A fine signed and annotated 9 x 12.5 photograph by Pope Benedict XV, the image depicting the Holy Father seated in a half length pose giving his blessing. Signed and annotated in bold black ink by Benedict XV, stating `We grant from inside of our heart, the apostolic blessing requested´, also dated in the Pope´s hand `City of the Vatican, 29th November 1917, Benedictus P.P XV´. Above Benedictus XV annotation, and written in another hand, bears the apostolic blessing requested by Yvonne and Madeleine Boie. The photograph has been professionally affixed to a cardboard. To the verso of the cardboard bearing the contemporary Ch. Darré, from Paris, framing company label. Very small overall age wear, otherwise VG £300-400
