Postcard to Rabbi Akiva Yosef Schlesinger handwritten and signed by his in-law Rabbi Moshe Mordechai Dov, with a request that he pray for the healing of the Moreh Tzeddek of Mihapalo, Rabbi Yaakov Hacohen Fischer. Hungary, [1893]. 


"May he do the bid of Yereh Hashem and pray for him and Hashem will hear his prayer and send him complete healing ... and beside this we expect only G-d's salvation". A request by Rabbi Moshe Mordechai Dov th ein-law of the renowned Jerusalem Gaon Rabbi Akiva Yosef Schlesinger author of 'Lev HaIvri' of Jerusalem to pray for a sick man. [Paks], Hungary, [1893]. 


[1] postcard, 9X14 cm, Handwritten and signed by Rabbi "Moshe Mordechai Dov ben Chanah". The letter refers to the two sons of Rabbi Yechezkel Zvi Hacohen Fischer Av Beis Din of Disel: Rabbu Yaakov Hacohen Moreh Tzeddek in Mihapalo and his brother Rabbi Moshe Tuvia Fischer of Pressburg. On the other side the address and name of the Gaon Rabbi Akiva Yosef Schlesinger. Enclosed is a printout of the content of the postcard. 


Rabbi Yaakov Hacohen Fischer - Av Beis Din of Zola-Mihapalo, passed away on the 17th of Shevat (1918). A responsum to him is introduced in Shut Rabbi Akiva Yosef Yod I, Siman 4. 


Rabbi Moshe Tuvia Hacohen Fischer of Pressburg (1839-1913) a beloved disciple of the Kesav Sofer, who moved to Pressburg after his marriage. The son-in-law of Rabbi Moshe Klein of Paks, the son-in-law of the Dayan Rabbi Mendel Bennet of Paks. The son-in-law of Rabbi Moshe Tuvia, Rabbi Aryeh Weingarten, was a Shochet and Bodek in Tirna, a disciple of the Sheves Sofer. Perished in Auschwitz. 


Rabbi Moshe Mordechai Dov Fishel (1844-1893) of Paks - the son of Rabbi Yosef Eliyahu Fishel and Mrs. Chana of the Kraus family. The son-in-law of Rabbi Mordechai Kalisch of Deaki. A disciple of Rabbi Yoel Unger Av Beis Din of Paks and a disciple of Rabbi Moshe Schick Av Beis Din of Chust, author of the Maharam Schick. Received his Hora'ah Semich by his Rav Rabbi Yoel Unger in 1870. Studied Shechita and received a certificate by the Dayanim of Koloma Rabbi Zecharya Mendel Dayan and Rabbi Akiva Yosef Schlesinger. Passed away suddenly at the age of 49 "and there was a great cry in the town since a widow with nine orphans was left and they needed assistance..." (from Derashos Yalkus Sofer).
