Petrovichev Petr Ivanovich (1874, the Yaroslavl Region – 1947, Moscow).

When a child, used to paint the cheap prints and draw with the charcoal on the wall. In 1888-1891 was the restorer-trainee at the Rostov museum of the Church Antiquities, engaged with the icons renovation, where has got the first skills in drawing. His work was noticed by V.V. Vereshagin, by protection of which Petrovichev managed to enter the the painting Department of the Moscow Institute of Painting, Sculpture and Architecture. In 1898 changed for the landscape studio, first headed by I.I. Levitan, and later on – by A.M. Vasnetsov. Influenced by those, Petrovichev became the master of lyrical landscape. Was exposed on the "World of the Arts" exhibition, TPHV. In 1911 joint the ‘Association of Russian Painters’. In 1922-1927 was the member of AHRR, entering afterwards the ‘Association of the painters-realist’, purposed for the keeping the traditions of the ‘mobile exhibitions painters’ and the ‘Association of the Russian Painters’.
The lyrical landscape and the architecture views of ancient Russian towns take the central part of the artist’s work. The master got especially famous thanks to his interiors of the ancient churches. In the 1930 th Petrovichev traveled a lot by the construction works making the industrial landscapes. The personal exhibitions of the artist were held in Moscow in 1917 and 1946. The works of Petrovichev are kept at the State Tretyakov Galley, the State Russian Museum, the Omsk Region Museum of Fine Arts and many others.
