Ateret Rosh, Chassidic homilies for the High Holidays – Rosh Hashana, Yom Kippur and Shabbat Shuva, by R. Dov Ber Shneuri – the Mitteler Rebbe of Lubavitch. Kopust (Kopys): R. Yehuda Yoffe, disciple of the Baal HaTanya, 1821. First edition.
Three different printings of the book Ateret Rosh were produced in Kopust in 1821, with differences in the title page, typography and pagination. This lot is comprised of two of them.
Copy I: [1], 102, [1] leaves. 16.5 cm. Fair condition. Stains, including dark stains, and wear. Tears, including open tear to title page, affecting border and text on verso, repaired with paper (and replacement of missing border). Extensive worming, affecting text. Stamp and handwritten inscriptions. New binding.
Copy II: [1], 5-32, 29-32, 37-54, 113-114, [2], 56-68, 73-78, [4], 85-112, [2] leaves. Lacking 5 leaves following title page. 16 cm. Good-fair condition. Stains. Tear to final leaf, affecting text, repaired with paper. Worming. Stamps and handwritten inscriptions. New leather binding.
