The text was written by Otto Kallir, and the illustrations were printed by Grandma Moses Properties. New York, 1973.
Anna Mary Robertson Moses, known as Grandma Moses, was one of the most renowned American folk artists of the 20th century. She painted 1500 works over 3 decades. In 1950, her works which were displayed in various exhibitions broke a world record for attendance. Her greatest works which were done in her old age and depicted village life and the American festivals, are displayed in museums throughout the world. Her works are often sold at auction for enormous sums, she was awarded many prizes for her contribution to art [The Harry S. Truman Prize and others]. She became famous primarily as an inspiration to both men and women of an advanced age to continue creating. Before us is a book which reviews her greatest works accompanied by dozens of pictures [full-page size], and a complete biography of her life.
