Hoover states in full' I had hoped that I would have the opportunity of a visit with you on the occasion of your recent visit to Washington, as Mr Nichols has informed me, in detail, regarding his discussion with you. Unfortunately, I was delayed returning to the city and learned that you had already left. I do hope that the next time you are in Washington I will have the privilege of saying hello´ Signed in bold blue ink.
