Antique Nepalese Tamang Shaman Dagger & Scabbard
The Tamang shaman (or "lamas", as they are sometimes called), are a priestly clan in residence in their native Nepal since antiquity. Pieces like this one (and the better-known "phurbas"), are used in cleansing rituals and other rites, as needed. This museum-mounted specimen, stands about 11". It, and many lots forthcoming are from the estate of a true antiquity connoisseur in every sense of the word.
