AUTOGRAPH ALBUM: A good ivory leather-bound 8vo vintage autograph album containing over 60 signatures, and over 12 sketches, fine pencil drawings or watercolours, by various artists, painters, ballet dancers, musicians, actors and actresses, scientists, etc.. including SALVADOR DALI (a good, bold example black ink signature, dated 1950 in his hand), ALEXANDER FLEMING (dated 28th May 1948 in his hand), FRANK SINATRA (a bold light blue ink signature), WILLIAM SOMERSET MAUGHAM (with inscription in Spanish, dated 13th June 1948 in his hand), ELIZABETH TAYLOR (signed and inscribed), JOSEPHINE BAKER (dated Barcelona, 31st May 1948 in her hand), ANDRE MAUROIS (with a statement in French `We love the sincerity from those who love us; about the others, we prefer politeness), Renata Tebaldi (inscribed and dated in Barcelona 1958 in her hand), Juliette Greco, Mistinguett (inscribed and dated in Barcelona 30th October 1948, in her hand), Lex Barker, Nikita Magaloff, Alicia de Larrocha, Jose Iturbi, Josep Gimeno-Navarro, Josep Mestres Cabanes, several members of the Russian Ballet in 1948, etc.. An excellent selection of autographs. Front cover with gilt embossed frame and page edges. Only very few pages loose, with the inside spine slightly unbound. VG £400-600
