A good A.L.S., L Michel, three pages, 8vo, grid paper, Paris, 26th December 1889, to Monsieur Hovelague?, in French. Michel thanks her correspondent for his recommendation about the secular library and states `..but having been ill for several days, was still expecting to be able to go. I managed to organize a first delivery of the encyclopedic lectures which should have been edited first of January, it was a secure sale at that time, but since then I haven´t been able to get out of home..´ Michel further explains that her work has to be submitted to a secular committee according to the secular library rules and continues saying `And this other delay I was telling you about is due to a sore throat which holds me here for 15 days, and therefore I don´t know what has happened with my delivery. I would be very glad if this has started. Would I be indiscreet asking you to please check with the secular library what has happened..´ VG £300-400 Louise Michel would flee to England, shortly after the present letter was written, after hearing that her enemies were hoping to intern her in a lunatic asylum. Michel had been several times arrested previously.
