BREGUET LOUIS: (1880-1955) French Aviator and Pioneer Aircraft Designer and Builder. An excellent and rare signed and inscribed 10 x 8 sepia photograph `Louis Breguet´, also signed by his brother `Jacques Breguet´, the image depicting Breguet outdoors, in a full length pose alongside his brother Jacques Breguet, Jacques Pelletier and an unidentified aviator, before a bomber plane. Signed and inscribed in bold dark blue ink to a clear area of the image, largely to the white lower border `To Monsieur Touzé, as a souvenir for the victory he has so usefully worked for.´, dated `New York, 8th October 1925´ in his hand. The victory Breguet refers to is the achievement of the bomber Breguet 19. Very small overall, minor age wear, otherwise VG £300-400 Jacques Breguet (1881-1935) French Engineer and Industrialist. He worked with his brother Louis on many airplanes designs and on gyroplanes. Captain Georges Pelletier d´Oisy (1892-1953) French aviator and World War I ace. Pelletier made an attempt in 1924 to fly around the world in a Breguet 19, but ended crashing the airplane in China after 26 days and 10.580 miles covered.
