NAPOLEON I: (1769-1821) Emperor of France 1804-14, 1815. L.S., `Bonaparte´, one page, folio, Milan, 7th November 1797, to Citizen Faipoult, French plenipotentiary Minister and special Envoy to Genoa, in French. The partially printed document bears a large and very attractive heading by Mercoli featuring Marianne, France's national symbol of liberty, seated surrounded by all the French republic symbols. Napoleon in his capacity as Chief General of the Italian Army, sends an urgent message to his correspondent fixing an immediate and prompt meeting, and states `I wrote to you, citizen Minister, last day 12th of this month, inviting you to travel to Milan. Apparently you did not receive my letter. As it is important that we meet and talk about the Genoa affairs, I kindly request you to depart as soon as my courier delivers this letter to you´. With blank integral leaf. Folded. Overall creasing and few tears to the edges, not affecting the text or signature.
