Adi Sand is an architect , sculpture , painter and Israeli graffiti artist known for graffiti characters Kopsonym created in Tel Aviv .
Sand was born in Kibbutz Givat Hashlosha in 1971. He is an architect by training and a graduate of the Department of Architecture at Bezalel . He worked in landscape design and agriculture in a traditional mountain on Mount Eitan. Since 1999 Sand has been creating graffiti figures throughout Tel Aviv that have been widely publicized. In recent years, with the increasing importance of graffiti and street art in the public space in the world and in Israel, he has begun to display in exhibition spaces, museums and festivals in comics and street art.
2011 he exhibited at the Helena Rubinstein Pavilion in the exhibition "Inside: Tel Aviv Street Art" (Curator: Tali Lanir). In August 2012 and May 2013 he participated in "Basic Colors" events for contemporary street art, held in deserted military bases near the northern border. That same year, Sened held a solo exhibition at the Mika Gallery. In 2015 , Sand presented the comprehensive exhibition "Pop Canaanite, Adi Sened Works from 1999 to 2015" at the Beit Uri and Rami Nehushtan Museum , curated by Michael Jacobson . The exhibition was accompanied by a catalog book (including articles by Hagai Canaan and Baruch Blich). It was the first solo exhibition of a street artist in a museum in Israel, and the large and comprehensive exhibition presented by Sand.
