TAPONIER ALEXANDRE CAMILLE: (1749-1831) French General. At the Storming of the Bastille Taponier was Sergeant and he leaded the assault to the prison. An attractive signed license `Taponier,´ one page, vellum, oblong folio, Paris, 12th April 1790, to Jean François Gougisné, in French. The partially printed document, bearing large drawings of arms and flags, permits National Guard Sergeant Gousigné to carry arms, and is signed at the base by Taponier in his capacity as Captain aide-mayor.
