RAMON Y CAJAL SANTIAGO : (1852-1934) Spanish Pathologist specializing in central nervous system. Nobel prize in Medicine, 1906. His investigations of the microscopic structure of the brain made him a pioneer of modern neuroscience. An excellent A.N.S., Cajal, one page, 8vo, n.p., n.d., [1899], on a page removed from an autograph album, in Spanish. A curious six lines statement in Cajal´s hand, stating `A Woman is a strychnine pill that Mother nature has pleased by gilding and sweetening so Men can swallow it easily´. At the base of the page a second statement by an unidentified artist. To the verso a lengthy and interesting statement about truth and lies and press journalism by Mariano de Cavia (1855-1920) Spanish Journalist and member of the Spanish Academy. Small overall foxing and small area of paper loss not affecting the text or signature. F to G. £150-200
