MORAND PAUL: (1888-1976) French Author. An early Modernist. A cult favourite in during the interwar period. Morand was a Vichy Ambassador. A.L.S., Morand, two pages, 8vo, n.p., 31st October 1939, on the French Mission in England for war printed stationery, to George Goyau´s widow, in French. Morand has just learned that Goyau passed away and states `France and the French Academy have lost a great person and writer, so deeply and so catholic human being. All those who dealt with him at the Figaro, and am one of them, liked him spontaneously for his kindness and sympathy. The war did not allow me to give my last goodbye to your husband..´.
