TIRPITZ ALFRED VON: (1849-1930) German Grand Admiral of World War I. T.L.S., v. Tirpitz, with two lines of holograph text, one page, 4to, Berlin, 30th November 1926, to Herr von Schack, Master of the Horse, Estates Manager to the Prince of Saxe-Coburg and Gotha, in German. Tirpitz explains the delay in replying to his correspondent's letter, as he was moving to Berlin, and asks for his respectful thanks be given to his Royal Highness for their kind invitation to Coburg on 18th January 1927, commenting 'Since I cannot at the moment foresee how I shall be placed, I should like to be allowed one or two weeks before giving a definite promise.'
