Carte de visite photograph by the photographer Alexander Rosenthal, Jerusalem, [c. 1880s].
A portrait photograph pasted on a cardboard card with the details of the photographer printed on the verso: "M. Alex. Rosenthal… a Jerusaleme".
Apparently, Alexander Rosenthal was the son of a Jerusalemite Jew who converted to Christianity. He studied in England and upon his return to Jerusalem, opened a photography studio with M. Martinowicz. Very few photographs by Rosenthal and Martinowicz are known.

Card: 6.5X10.5 cm. Good condition. Light stains.
