A Fascinating Historical Item 'Distribution of Bread to the Yeshiva Students" with the Signatures of the Great Rabbis of Jerusalem
A historical document, four pages long, which bears the logo of the 'American Jewish Joint Aid Committee – Joint'. From the date Tammuz 1961. It contains a list of the students of the 'Etz Chaim' yeshiva – the primary yeshiva in Jerusalem, who received loaves of bread from the Joint, the number of people in each family and the signature of the recipients [133 signatures!]. Among the signatories are the great Rabbis: Rabbi Zelig Braverman, the bothers Rabbi Chaim and Rabbi Yehoshua Brim, Rabbi Yitzchak David Guttfarb, Rabbi Shmuel Hominer, Rabbi Binyamin Cheshin, Rabbi Zev Twersky, Rabbi Yosef Salant, Rabbi Yisrael Yaacov Fisher, Rabbi Chaim Uri and Rabbi Sender Freund, Rabbi VelvelCheshin, Rabbi Zundel Kroiser, Rabbi A.
