PARKS ROSA: (1913-2005) African American civil rights Activist and an icon of resistance to racial segregation. Also known as the Mother of the Freedom Movement. Parks was arrested for civil disobedience violating segregation laws when she refused to give up her bus seat to a white passenger. Signed F.D.C. `Rosa Parks´, oblong 8vo envelope, State of St. Christopher-Nevis-Anguilla, 30th September 1968. The document being the commemorative presentation of a 50 cents colour printed stamp showing Martin Luther King. Signed in bold blue ink to a clear area of the front envelope. VG £80-100
